The economy of Zamboanga del Sur grew by 5.0 percent in 2023 from its 2022 level, slower than the 6.4 percent growth in the previous year. This represents an increase in the value of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 101.50 billion in 2022 to PhP 106.63 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)

Among the 16 industries, the fastest growths were observed in Construction with 20.7 percent, followed by Transportation and storage with 20.6 percent, and Other services with 14.3 percent. On the other hand, Mining and quarrying, and Manufacturing declined by 3.3 percent and 4.0 percent, respectively. (Figure 2)
