Ms. Mewchun WS. Pamaran is the Regional Director of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) IX. She also serves as the Chairperson of Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (RIACCRVS) and Vice Chairperson of Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) IX.  

 

Director Pamaran has a Career Service Executive Eligibility (CSEE) – Third Level. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Likewise, she earned her master’s degree in Business Administration in the same university. In  2010, she finished her Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies still in the same university.

 

She started her career as a Bookkeeper and in 1983 she became a member of the college faculty of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University as an Assistant Professor while supervising various censuses of the former National Statistics Office (NSO). She later became the regional head of the former National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB). Prior to her becoming the regional director of PSA IX, she was the division chief of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Board (SOCD). In 2016, she took the position of the former regional director Mr. Ronaldo C. Taghap.
