22 April 2025 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office IX (RSSO IX) conducted the 2024 Economic Performance of Zamboanga Peninsula News Conference at Sycamore Hall, WINN Hotel, Canelar, this City. The news conference was led by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region IX OIC Regional Director Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero and PSA IX Regional Director Mewchun WS. Pamaran.

OIC Chief Statistical Specialist Manuela S. Nalugon and Statistical Analyst Reann C. Dela Cruz attended the said conference as the PSA Central Office representatives from the Macroeconomic Accounts Service. Director Pamaran presented the highlights of the region's 2024 economic performance during the news conference. Following the presentation, Director Guerrero delivered a statement regarding the report on the region's economic performance.

As mandated by law, the PSA generates and disseminates the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) annually, reporting it simultaneously through news conferences in all 18 regions in the country.

Following the presentation on the Economic Performance of the Zamboanga Peninsula, a plaque of recognition was awarded to selected industries in Zamboanga City for their outstanding support and cooperation during data collection for the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI) and the Producer Price Survey (PPS). The awardees were Universal Canning Inc., Philippine International Development Inc. (PHIDCO), and Mega Plywood Corp.

The 2024 Economic Performance of Zamboanga Peninsula News Conference was concluded with a closing message from OIC SOCD Chief Ma. Flerida E. Tan.
