The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay held a Data and Information Dissemination Forum on 14 April 2025 at Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges (AMMC) – Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Over 250 students, faculty, and staff from AMMC attended the event, which aimed to raise awareness and provide better understanding of the National ID system, its role in improving public service delivery, and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS). The forum also highlighted the services available through the Civil Registry System (CRS) Ipil Outlet.

Mr. Joric L. Jimenez, Information Officer I, served as the resource speaker, providing a thorough and insightful discussion on the National Identification (NID) System. He emphasized its key security features and the numerous benefits it offers, such as reducing identity fraud and simplifying transactions with both government and private institutions. A major highlight of the forum was the promotion of the National ID in its various formats—the physical card, National ID in paper form, and the Digital National ID, to ensure accessibility and convenience for all registrants. Mr. Jimenez also shared updates on the registration count and the ongoing services offered by the PSA Zamboanga Sibugay NID team.
Meanwhile, Registration Officer II Gerry E. Lao-lao delivered an in-depth discussion on CRVS, highlighting the importance of accurate civil records in safeguarding individual rights. He discussed the common uses of civil registry documents, the usual problems encountered by registrants, and emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate records. Additionally, he introduced the range of services now available at PSA – Zamboanga Sibugay’s newly opened Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet.
During the open forum, participants actively engaged by raising questions about data privacy, registration procedures, the prohibition on printing the Digital National ID, and concerns about delayed National ID card deliveries. These questions were all thoroughly addressed by the speakers.
