27 – 29 February 2024 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) IX conducted the Second Level Training on 2024 Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI) and Producers Price Index (PPS) at Function Hall, PSA-RSSO IX headed by Officer-In-Charge SOCD Chief Ma. Flerida E. Tan.
Officer-In-Charge CRASD Chief Conrad E. Sontillano formally opened the training with his welcome message. The resource person during the 3-day training was Statistical Specialist II Rabia A. Nami. Also attending the training were Senior Statistical Specialist Edna D. Kiskis of PSO-Zamboanga del Norte and Administrative Aide VI April Ruth N. Aure-De Villa of PSO-Zamboanga Sibugay.

The Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI) collects data on employment, compensation, value of production, revenue/sales, inventories and capacity utilization rate from manufacturing establishments. This survey is regularly providing time flash indicators that monitor the performance of growth-oriented industries in the manufacturing section.

Meanwhile, the Producers Price Survey (PPS) collects monthly producer price data of industry products produced for the generation of Producer Price Index (PPI). PPI serves various purposes; it measures monthly or yearly changes in the producer price of key commodities in the manufacturing section, serves as deflator to Value of Production Index (VaPi) and Value of Net Sales Index (VaNSI) in the estimation of the Volume of Net Sales Index (VoNSI) for the MISSI, respectively and to serves as a deflator in the estimation of manufacturing production in real terms in the system of national accounts.

The Second Level Training on 2024 MISSI and PPS was concluded by the closing message of Officer-In-Charge SOCD Chief Ma. Flerida E. Tan.
