Philippine Statistics Authority Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Statistical Office started the registration of children below one-year old. This is in line with the organizational goal of the PSA to provide an inclusive, secure, and sustainable National Identification System and to provide valid proof of identity for all citizens.

Only the demographic information and front-facing photograph of the children are collected during National ID Registration. The PhilSys Number (PSN) of the child is linked to the PSN of the parent or guardian for authentication purposes. The presentation of an Authorization Letter is a must in case the child is accompanied by a guardian during his/her registration due to the absence/unavailability of his/her parents.
