Snapshots during the conduct of Data and Information Dissemination Forum at MSU-Buug Campus

 

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Zamboanga Sibugay successfully conducted a Data and Information Dissemination Forum at the Mindanao State University - Buug Campus on 07 February 2025. The event brought together around 100 participants, including student leaders, faculty, and staff, to discuss crucial topics such as the National ID System, Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, the services offered by the Civil Registry System (CRS) Ipil outlet, and the latest Census and Survey Results from PSA.

The forum began with opening remarks delivered by Ms. Jehada A. Elias, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, who set the tone for an informative and engaging session. She highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and the role of data in nation-building, particularly in the context of vital government programs.

Resource speakers shared their expertise on various critical topics: 

  • Registration Officer II Gerry E. Lao-lao gave an in-depth presentation on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, elaborating on the procedures for acquiring civil registry documents, emphasizing the importance of accurate civil records for individuals and the community.

  • Statistical Specialist II Emerald Gaffud discussed the January 2025 Inflation Report of Zamboanga Sibugay, providing valuable insights into the province’s economic landscape, trends, and implications for the local community.

  • Registration Officer II Philips Carido and Information Officer I Joric Jimenez provided a comprehensive overview of the National Identification System, emphasizing its significance and the benefits it offers to both the public and government operations. They also shared updates on the ongoing implementation of the National ID in Zamboanga Sibugay, explaining its design, security features, and the services it offers, such as National ID registration which also includes the registration of children from 0 to 4 years old, issuance of National IDs in paper form, retrieval of Transaction Reference Numbers (TRNs), card replacements for peeled-off photos, and services for updating or correcting entries.

The forum also featured an open discussion, where participants were encouraged to ask questions and share their concerns. The resource speakers provided thorough responses and clarifications, ensuring that all inquiries were addressed comprehensively.
