City of Zamboanga Economy Continues to Increase with
3.5 Percent Growth in 2023
The economy of the City of Zamboanga grew by 3.5 percent in 2023. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of City of Zamboanga was estimated at PhP 144.33 billion higher than the PhP 139.46 billion in the previous year. (Figure 1)

In Zamboanga Peninsula, City of Zamboanga had the largest share with 32.3 percent. This was followed by Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay with 26.9 percent, 23.8 percent, and
14.3 percent, respectively. City of Isabela has the least percentage share with 2.7 percent.

The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the PSA to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2023, following the successful PPA compilation of Zamboanga Peninsula, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
