The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay offered Philippine Identification (PhilID) or national ID registration services and processed requests for civil registry documents during the Serbisyo Caravan initiated by the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI). This event was part of the celebration of the PRRI’s 14th Founding Anniversary on 10 May 2024 at Emerald Hall, Badsbrotel Suites, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The event provided an opportunity for individuals to avail themselves of services from various government agencies, non-government organizations, and academe. Among the services offered by the PSA – Sibugay were mobile civil registry services including processing copies of civil registry documents such as Birth, Marriage, Death certificates, Certificate of Marriage (CEMAR), and Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR). PSA-Sibugay also provided Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) services such as PhilSys Step 2 registration and Transaction Reference Number (TRN) retrieval, which are essential for day-to-day transactions.

Statistical Specialist II Marvin A. Maylon and PhilSys Focal Person Angelica May S. Dalis led the mobile registration activity together with the Birth Registration Assistant and PhilSys personnel.

During the Serbisyo Talk segment, participants raised numerous questions and queries regarding the significant delays in receiving their PhilIDs. Mr. Maylon explained the possible causes of the delayed deliveries and encouraged participants to use their ePhilIDs while waiting for their physical cards, as both IDs have the same functionality.

The PSA’s participation in the event is a testament to the transformative potential of efficient public service and collaborative governance. By empowering citizens with valid identification and enhanced access to services, the government is taking significant steps towards building a more inclusive and progressive society.
