The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office proudly culminates the successful implementation of the first ever PSA-Funded 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay through the conduct of Data Turnover Ceremony (DTC) at Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

This Data Turnover Ceremony, held at the Sangguniang Bayan Hall on November 22, 2023, witnessed the esteemed presence of key officials, including Mayor Gilbert T. Edem, Vice Mayor Orlando A. Ramiso, MPDC Engr. Rex T. Esparaguera, DILG Judilloid S. Ovalo, Sangguniang Bayan Members, various department heads of LGU Talusan, PSA Region IX Regional Director Mewchun WS. Pamaran, and the dedicated PSA Sibugay Staff headed by CSS Atty. Richard D. Tabigne together with SrSS Ma. Theresa R. Sumicad, AA VI Aiza C. Gallegos, SS II(COSW) Nischelle Ann O. Evangelista, and ISA I (COSW) William A. Gaffud.

The groundbreaking ceremony represented a crucial moment, indicating a dedication to enhancing data-driven decision-making processes within the community. This occasion marked the beginning of joint endeavors, shared duties, and a united pledge to shape a more promising future for all members.

During the event, Regional Director Mewchun WS. Pamaran delivered her welcome remarks, expressing thanks to everyone participating in the 2022 CBMS and underscoring the importance of their contributions to the event's success. Following that, CSS Atty. Richard D. Tabigne presented the highlights of the 2022 CBMS, emphasizing crucial elements such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This encompassed areas like food security, education, detailed data based on gender and age, accessibility to essential services like electricity and the internet, employment, and other essential metrics. He emphasized the significance of this data for decision-makers, planners, communities, leaders, and stakeholders alike.

Mayor Edem extended sincere thanks on behalf of LGU Talusan to the PSA, acknowledging their crucial role in realizing the community's goals. He emphasized that having access to this data would greatly improve their comprehension of the community's requirements, particularly in education and addressing crucial areas like health, sanitation, and other priority action points. Mayor Edem assured the community that these plans would come to fruition in the upcoming months and years, underscoring their wholehearted acceptance of the 2022 CBMS Data.
Following the formal signing of the data turnover agreement, MPDC Planning Assistant and Designated Municipal Statistician Engr. Jemilou D. Genovia presented the plans and programs utilizing the 2022 CBMS data, placing emphasis on data security in adherence to the Data Privacy Act.

SrSS Ma. Theresa R. Sumicad delivered the closing message, highlighting the significance of this ceremony as a significant milestone for the constituents of Talusan.

This significant event marks a notable stride in utilizing data for informed decision-making, exemplifying a strong collaborative spirit towards community development into a realization.
