15 February 2024 – ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY. The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Zamboanga Sibugay, in coordination with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of R.T. Lim headed by MCR Aniceta B. Medalla, led the First Ceremonial Turnover of Birth Certificates in Security Paper (SECPA) under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). The event took place at ABC Hall, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Supervising Statistical Specialist Camilo M. Bagsican, Registration Officer II Gerry E. Lao-Lao, Statistical Specialist II Marvin A. Maylon and the Birth Registration Agents Julie Ann Q. Donaire and Juvelyn R. Tan were also present during the event. There were twenty-one (21) registration beneficiaries from different barangays in the Municipality of R.T. Lim who had successfully registered their births through the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).
This remarkable success in birth registration demonstrates the commitment of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to ensure that all Filipinos, especially thoseThe team handed out twenty-One (21) Certificate of Live Births (COLBs) in Security Paper (SECPA) to the document owners, marking the successful completion of a precise process of registration that involved screening, data verification, and application for delayed registration of birth at the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO).
One of the registrants, Mrs. Estela Sebuja, a resident of Barangay Ali Alsree, RT Lim, emotionally received her birth certificate after 30 years. She expressed her profound gratitude for being able to secure her birth certificate for free. This project has a significant impact on all residents and the entire community in the Municipality of RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.
During the turnover, Registration Officer II/BRAP Focal Person Gerry E. Lao-Lao, highlighted the significance of acquiring a birth certificate as a fundamental document for identification and necessary transactions The said event was also in line with the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month.
