PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR — The 34th National Statistics Month (NSM) Celebration in Zamboanga del Sur kicked-off with an Opening Ceremony held on October 02, 2023, at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Zamboanga del Sur Conference Hall, V. Sagun St., Balangasan, Pagadian City.

The Opening Ceremony gathered participants from various government agencies, all converging to mark the beginning of a month-long celebration dedicated to the importance and value of statistics. This year's NSM theme, "Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines," emphasizes the critical role of data and statistics in enhancing health outcomes and socioeconomic development.

Distinguished speakers from the PSA ZDS Provincial Statistical Office and the Association of City/Municipal Civil Registrars of Zamboanga del Sur, represented by the Association's President, Zuraida C. Jalem, shared insights and perspectives during the ceremony, setting the tone for the upcoming events of the 34th NSM Celebration.

The month ahead promises a series of engaging activities, including hanging of streamers, data dissemination through PSA bulletin boards, the Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Eliminations, data dissemination on social media and radio stations, infographics making contest, coastal clean-up, and the 34th NSM Closing Ceremony, among others.

As we embark on this year's National Statistics Month celebration, we invite all departments, bureaus, offices, and instrumentalities of the national government, government-owned and controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, local government units, the private sector, and the public to support and actively participate in this month-long NSM celebration.
