18 January 2024 – ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay together with the LGU of Talusan convened the CBMS Coordinating Board of the said municipality for the implementation of the 2024 CBMS Rollout.
By virtue of RA 11315, otherwise known as the “Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Act” signed into law on 17 April 2019, the PSA is mandated to implement the CBMS, referred to as an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for local planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring while empowering communities to participate in the process.
The meeting was participated by different office heads/representatives of the LGU offices led by the municipal mayor Hon. Gilbert T. Edem and PSA-Sibugay personnel headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Atty. Richard D. Tabigne. Mayor Ramiso, who was the presider, gave an encouraging message about the importance of CBMS datain formulating and implementing local programs. This came out after the successful conduct of the recent CBMS Rollout in Talusan in 2022. Subsequently, a participant inquired on what will happen to the newly-turned over CBMS data. Atty. Tabigne replied that the 2022 CBMS data will become a baseline data for the succeeding CBMS operations which shall be conducted every three years. In this regard, consistent monitoring of whether a progress in the economic and social status of the local constituents has been realized will be observed in the municipality.
Thus, the PSA-Sibugay together with the LGU-Talusan came to a consensus to work anew jointly towards a successful implementation of the 2024 CBMS.
