The PSA – Zamboanga Sibugay successfully conducted the 4-day third-level training on the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS). The training took place from January 30 to February 2, 2024, at the PSA Training Center in Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) and Team Supervisor (TS) underwent an intensive training for them to effectively carry out their duties and responsibilities during their field operations. Various crucial topics were covered during the training, providing attendees with significant insights into the NICTHS procedures. Mr. Romel S. Ganzale, Assistant Statistician and Focal Person of the said project serves as the trainer.

This survey, a collaborative effort between the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), holds immense significance as it is a key step in addressing the lack of ICT statistics in the country. The gathered information is essential for monitoring existing programs, informed decision-making, development of potential projects, and for formulation of future policies towards the advancement of ICT in the country.

As mandated by Republic Act No. 10625, the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, the Philippine Statistics Authority will spearhead the implementation of the 2023 NICTHS. Field operations will be conducted from February 5 to March 6, 2024.
