The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) IX won 1^st Place in Civil Registration during the 2017 PSA Awards Night. The awarding was held last March 23, 2018 at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City.

The PSA Awards is an annual event where hard work and dedication of employees are acknowledged in providing fast and efficient services and quality outputs to all clients and stakeholders. The momentous event is spearheaded by the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales.

Before the conduct of the event, the seventeen (17) competing Regional Offices were rated by categories like Statistical Operations, Statistical Planning and Coordination, Statistical Frameworks and Indicator System, Civil Registration, among others. The ratings were based on the criteria provided in the 2017 PSA Awards Manual.

The award received by Zamboanga Peninsula has inspired its personnel to continuously strive for excellence in the production of quality statistics and delivery of efficient services.
