The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office IX in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City officially opened the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration Center at Barangay Tagasilay last 04 May 2022.

Ric Mark Anthony B. Garcia, Statistical Specialist II of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division was among those in attendance and in his message, acknowledged the support of the Barangay Council and for the warm welcome given to the PSA. He further stated that the PSA continues to intensify its goal to make the PhilSys registration more accessible to the people. Joining them was Land Bank of the Philippines Department Head for Zamboanga City, Mr. Rodolfo A. Luceñada who also gave a message emphasizing the role of Land Bank as co-locator in the registration center.

This year, the PSA aims to set up more registration centers in other barangays that were preregistered in Step 1.
