25 March 2024 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) IX spearheaded the culminating activity in celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month with its theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas; Kakayahan ng Kababihan, Patunayan!”

The activity was led by Ms. Mewchun WS. Pamaran, Regional Director, and Mr. Conrad E. Sontillano, OIC CRASD Chief. Also, present during the culminating activity were Ms. Yehrida S. Gulam, Administrative Office IV-Human Resource Officer and Ms. Roselyn R. Manalo, Assistant Statistician, Gender and Development Focal Persons.

RD Pamaran started the activity with her opening message. Right after, a lecture on Values Restoration was presented by Ms. Roselyn R. Manalo. A movie named Mona Liza Smile was shared by Ms. Francline Joy Villablanca, Administrative Assistant I, the movie addresses the issue of stereotyping women’s role in society in the 1950s and how they were often forced to abandon their careers and get married, highlighting the significant impact of gender roles in society.

Infographics and Webpage Design Contest was held during the afternoon session of the activity, three (3) participants for infographics and two (2) participants for webpage design joined the contest. Mr. Alexis James D. Chiong, Assistant Statistician, COSW-ENRA, and Ms. Emelyn S. Indanan, Information System Analyst I, COSW-CAF were announced as the champions for the infographics contest and webpage design contest, respectively.

The 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration Culminating Activity was concluded by the closing message of Mr. Conrad E. Sontillano.
