30 June 2025 - ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Regional Statistical Services Office IX conducted a National ID registration activity at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

This collaboration between the PSA and BJMP is a significant move toward inclusive identification, ensuring that even individuals currently in detention havb access to an official government-issued ID. Providing registration services within jail facilities allows Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to secure valid identification, which is essential for addressing legal concerns, processing official documents, and facilitating various administrative transactions.
A total of 75 individuals were successfully registered for the National ID during the one-day registration activity held at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). This initiative underscores the commitment to social inclusion and equal access to government services. By extending National ID registration to Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL), the program ensures they are not left behind and are provided with proper identification. Having a valid ID plays a crucial role in their eventual reintegration into society, helping them access essential services and increasing their opportunities to rebuild their lives as productive members of the community.
