The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office IX in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City officially opened the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration Center at Barangay Malagutay last 26 September 2022.

Shehana S. Ladjabangsa, Information System Analyst I of PhilSys from PSA RSSO IX was among those in attendance and in her message, acknowledged the support of the Barangay Council and for the warm welcome given to the PSA. She further advised that health protocols should still be observed as the threat of COVID-19 is not yet eliminated.

This year, the PSA aims to set up more registration centers in other barangays that were not covered in Step 1.
