The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) awarded Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper (SECPA) to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) at the Dumingag Municipal Gymnasium, Zamboanga del Sur, on May 23, 2024. The event was marked by a warm welcome from Municipal Mayor Gerry T. Paglinawan, who congratulated the beneficiaries on this significant milestone.
PSA Supervising Statistical Specialist-OIC, Dimna P. Bienes, expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support from the Local Government Unit (LGU), the Local Civil Registry Office, and the BRAP beneficiaries. She emphasized the importance of having a valid proof of identity and commended the beneficiaries for seizing this opportunity.
A total of 171 beneficiaries received their Certificates of Live Birth. Among the recipients was Jimmy C. Maglasang, a 62-year-old resident of Brgy. Licabang, Dumingag, who was the oldest beneficiary to receive the SECPA. Mr. Maglasang was interviewed by Rommel Victor S. Del Pilar, Registration Officer II, during the ceremony.
The beneficiaries also had the opportunity to register in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), further solidifying their identity and access to various government services. The PSA remains dedicated to ensuring that all citizens have access to essential civil registration services, with continued support from partnering agencies.
