The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) – Zamboanga Sibugay successfully conducted its 1st Quarter Regular Meeting for C.Y. 2024 held last 12 January 2024 at PDRRM Bldg., Capitol Site, Ipil Heights, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Atty. Socrates P. Villota, Acting Provincial Planning and Development Officer, committee chairperson, presided the said meeting together with Atty. Richard D. Tabigne, Chief Statistical Specialist, vice-chairperson of the said committee. It was also attended by thirty six (36) PSC members composed of heads and representatives from different provincial line agencies and provincial local government units (PLGUs).
Major agenda items discussed during the meeting include:
Presentation of Resolutions, presented by Mr. Romel S. Ganzale, PSC-Secretariat;
Presentation of the Production Statistics of Priority and Emerging Commodities in the Province, presented by Mr. Camilo M. Bagsican, PSC-Secretariat;
Presentation of Labor and Employment Statistics 2021-2022, presented by Mr. Ephraim I. Sagaral, PSA-Statistical Analyst;
Presentation of the List of Activities for Civil Registration Month (CRM) Celebration, presented by Mr. Gerry E. Lao-lao, PSA-Registration Officer II; and
Updates on the following data in the Social Sector, Infrastructures, and Economic Sector.
In addition, Atty. Villota, as the presider of the meeting, facilitated the passage of the proposed resolutions enjoining the PSC members, LGUs (Provincial, Municipal, and Barangay), and data providers to support the conduct of censuses, surveys, and activities conducted by the PSA.
The PSC was established to serve as the policy-making body on statistical matters and to provide a forum for discussing and resolving statistical issues at the provincial level. Consequently, PSC members also commit to providing continuous support for the aforementioned surveys.
