On May 15, 2024, PSA PhilSys of PSO Zamboanga del Norte successfully organized an online advocacy campaign via google meet. The event saw active participation from 22 representatives across various banks, remittance centers and government financial institutions. Notable attendees included Mr. Jacob Shaquille Wee, Registration Officer III of the Regional Office; Ms. Ma. Lila D. Daan, Chief Statistical Specialist; and Ms. Sesenia C. Belorio, Supervising Statistical Specialist.
PhilSys personnel Melody P. Tabigne, Focal Person; Ariel Rebalbusa, Information Systems Analyst; and Emily Doremon, Admin Clerk, led the discussion as the resource speakers. They highlighted the importance, uses, and benefits of the National ID, emphasizing its key features. The proactive strategy of issuing the ePhilID was also thoroughly explained to the attendees.
This initiative aligns with RA11055, the Philippine Identification System Act section 21, which mandates the PSA and other agencies to conduct extensive information campaigns promoting the PhilSys to all citizens and resident aliens. The success of this online advocacy campaign marks a significant step in raising awareness and understanding of the National ID system.
