PSA – Sibugay Conducts Convening of 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board in the Municipality of Kabasalan

In preparation for the upcoming 2024 CBMS operations, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Zamboanga Sibugay successfully conducted the 2024 Community Based-Monitoring System (CBMS) Convening of the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Boards of LGU – Kabasalan held last 16 January 2024 at SB Hall, River Side, Kabasalan, ZSP. In behalf of the Municipal Mayor of Kabasalan, Hon. Katrina B. Cainglet, the meeting was presided by the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Mr. Jose M. Cinco Jr. It was also actively participated by representatives and heads of office in LGU - Kabasalan. Representatives from PSA – Sibugay were also present during the meeting.

Mr. Camilo M. Bagsican, PSA – Supervising Statistical Specialist emphasized the importance and objectives of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) during his presentation. He also added that the CBMS could generate registries of target beneficiaries as an aid to more focused delivery of local government interventions.

Meanwhile, PSA – Senior Statistical Specialist, Ma. Theresa R. Sumicad also discussed the possible assistance of the members of the CCBs for the CBMS Operations. She also presented the total number of data items and its indicators of each profile questionnaires (HPQ and BPQ).

Mr. Cinco also shared his insights and suggestions on how to ensure the smooth functioning of the board specifically in the implementation of the program in the municipality this year. In addition, ABC President Ms. Sheila P. Bauzon ensures that the Barangay Captains will engage and be responsible in overseeing the CBMS operations in their respective barangays. Guided by the expertise of the Philippine Statistics Authority, the session unfolded as a collaborative endeavor, setting the stage for unified efforts in community development and data management. Participants eagerly delved into discussions, laying the foundation for a promising journey ahead.
