The Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) IX conducted its First Regular Meeting for CY 2018 last February 27, 2018 at the Function Hall of PSA Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) IX. The meeting was presided by Dir. Teresita Socorro C. Ramos, RSC IX Chairperson and NEDA IX Regional Director. During the meeting, topics such as the 2017 accomplishments of the Committee and the proposed agenda agenda for CY 2018 were presented. Other items included in the agenda were: (a) presentation on the Advance Release Calendar CY 2018; (b) presentation and discussion on the Regional Statistical Development Program; (c) 2017 Gross Regional Domestic Product Estimation and; (d) dissemination of the statistical publications of PSA IX. Twenty three (23) representatives from the different regional line agencies and local government units were present during the said meeting along with one (1) participant representing the secretariat and members of the Economic Development Committee (EDCom) of RDC IX.

The Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) acts as the policy making body on statistical matters at the local level. The PSA Board through Board Resolution No. 5 Series of 2015 established the RSCs to: (1) provide direction and guidance to regional/local statistical development activities; and, (2) serve as a venue for discussion and resolution of statistical issues at the local level.
