21 March 2024 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) IX employees headed by Mr. Jacob Shaquille T. Wee, Registration Officer III, joined the Mangrove Propagule Tree Growing Activity spearheaded by the City Government of Zamboanga through the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR).
The Mangrove Propagule Tree Growing Activity took place at coastal zone of Sitio Panji-panji, Mala, Barangay Panubigan, this City. The objective of the activity was to help restore and protect the coastal environment within the City of Zamboanga. The said activity was in relation to the celebration of the worldwide observance of Earth Hour 2024. This was also in support with the targeted one (1) Million trees planted by 2025 under the current city administration.

The event was participated by various agencies from both local and national government agencies including civil society organization.

Earth Hour is an annual worldwide movement organized by the World-Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF).
