The Provincial Statistics Committee of Zamboanga Sibugay held its 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting on 26 April 2024 at the SP Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Chaired by PSC – Chairperson Engr. Venancio Ferrer III, the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of the province, together with PSC – Vice Chairperson Atty. Richard D. Tabigne, Provincial Statistics Officer of PSA – Zamboanga Sibugay, it was actively participated in by PSC members (heads and representatives) from various provincial government agencies, provincial local government units, and academe.

The following business matters were discussed during the meeting:

1. Presentation of the Status of the Priority Commodities of Zamboanga Sibugay, presented by PSA – Supervising Statistical Specialist Mr. Camilo M. Bagsican;

2. Presentation of the monthly Inflation Report of Zamboanga Sibugay from January 2024 to March 2024, presented by Statistical Specialist II Mr. Ephraim I. Sagaral; and

3. Presentation of the Highlights for the upcoming conduct of the 2024 Census of Population and Community – Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS), presented by SSII Mr. Ephraim I. Sagaral. 

The committee passed and approved resolutions in support to the successful conduct of the above activities.

The PSC is the policy-making body on statistical terms, conducts quarterly meetings to discuss statistical challenges, any other important issues, and the resolution of statistical issues in the province. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay recognizes the importance of the well – representation of provincial offices and agencies in addressing statistical issues. From insightful discussions to collaborative decision-making, this captures the essence of our commitment to data-driven governance and sustainable development.
