The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) IX conducted the 2^nd Level Training of the 2018 Labor Turnover Survey (LTS)last May 8 -9, 2018 at PSA RSSO IX Function Hall. The activity was participated by the Provincial Statistics Officers, Focal Persons and Statistical Researchers.

Dr. Mewchun WS. Pamaran, the Regional Director of PSA RSSO IX during her inspirational message emphasized the importance of labor turnover to the management. She also reminded the participants of the role of the PSA being the source of official statistics such as labor turnover to make sure of the accuracy of the data being released which are used by the different stakeholders. This was further pointed-out by the trainer, Engr. Vicente S. Sambilad, Statistical Specialist II as the training proper commenced.

The Labor Turnover Survey is one of the quarterly regular surveys of the Philippine Statistics Authority which is a spin off from the Employment, Hours and Earnings Survey (EHES) which was conducted from 1987 to 2002 by the former Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics (BLES). The LTS started in the second semester of 2002 and aims to collect labor turnover data and only covers the National Capital Region. However, after the pilot survey the LTS will be expanded to all the regions in 2018 to get a more complete picture of the labor market situation in the whole country.
