08 August 2025 – Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay, through its National ID team, continues to promote the acceptance of the National ID in all formats—whether card, paper, or digital—for use in both government and private sector transactions.
This ongoing initiative aims to strengthen the recognition of the National ID as a valid and reliable proof of identity for a wide range of services and transactions. To support this effort, PSA Zamboanga Sibugay through its National ID team, distributed advocacy materials, including ‘National ID Accepted Here’ stickers and information leaflets, to various institutions and establishments across the province.
Several remittance centers have already received these materials, including MLhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop, Cebuana Lhuillier, RD Pawnshop, and F.A. Pawnshop. Banks such as Land Bank of the Philippines, BDO Network Bank, Metrobank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), 1st Valley Bank, Katipunan Bank, and the Rural Bank of Liloy, Inc. have also been included in the distribution. Additionally, the team distributed copies of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Memorandum Circular No. 2025-012, titled “Reminder on the Acceptance of All Formats of the National ID and Enhanced Use of National ID Authentication Services”, to further reinforce compliance and awareness.
Government agencies that frequently require valid identification for their services—such as Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and PhilHealth, have also received these materials. Distribution to other establishments across the province is ongoing.
Through this advocacy campaign, PSA Zamboanga Sibugay encourages more institutions to officially recognize and accept the National ID as a primary form of identification. This not only simplifies and streamlines public transactions but also enhances accessibility and convenience for all Filipinos.
The agency remains committed to promoting the full integration of the National ID into various sectors, highlighting its role in providing secure, efficient, and inclusive identity verification nationwide.
