Blancia College Foundation, Inc. bagged all three major awards during the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Eliminations held on 22 October at Pagadian City. Twenty contestants from seven different colleges in the province vied for the top three spots to become the representatives for the PSQ Regional Championships.
After competing in a three-round contest, Carel Jane I. Duyag, a first-year college student taking up Bachelor of Science in Nursing was declared the 28th PSQ Provincial Champion. She was followed by her coeds, Shanice Gypcy C. Lague and Kyza P. Tamayo, who emerged in second and third places, respectively. All three students came from Blancia College Foundation, Inc., Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. Mr. Juneil I. Jalambo served as their coach.
The winners were awarded certificates, trophies and tokens, while contestants and coaches were also given certificates and tokens.
The winners together with their coach will represent Zamboanga del Sur during the Regional Championships to be held on 08 November in Zamboanga City. And subsequently, the winner during the PSQ Regional Championships will represent Zamboanga Peninsula during the PSQ National Finals to be held on 05 December in Manila.
The PSQ is a nationwide annual contest designed to assess the knowledge in statistics of freshmen students enrolled in colleges and universities.
