23 July 2024 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office IX (PSA-RSSO IX) was featured in the 9th Episode of the “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas” organized and facilitated by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) through Philippine Information Agency (PIA). The “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas” aims to enhance public engagement and amplifies the policies, activities and achievements of the PSA, consistent with the mandate of the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas governance and leadership agenda.

Regional Director Mewchun WS. Pamaran served as the main resource person together with her were OIC-SOCD Chief Ma. Flerida E. Tan and PSO-Zamboanga Sibugay – Chief Statistical Specialist Atty. Richard D. Tabigne.

RD Pamaran was pleased to announced that the PSA IX and the PSO of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte were certified with ISO 9001:2015 Certification in March 2023 and are being recertified for a validity period of three years, from March 2024 to March 2027. This certification confirmed that the Quality Management System (QMS) of PSA IX conforms to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, resulting in the issuance of the certification. She also highlighted the awards and recognitions received by the agency from different National Government Agencies and its participation during the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair last 10-11 May 2023 and the other activities and operations across the region.

RD Pamaran gave emphasis on the conduct of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (2024 POPCEN-CBMS). RD Pamaran stated that this undertaking aims to facilitate and comprehensive enumeration of the country’s population and identification of beneficiaries of social protection initiative and provide a basis for targeting household in the planning, formulation, and implementation of poverty alleviation programs and projects.

Afterwards, several questions were raised from online viewers and local media partners and were all answered and addressed by RD Pamaran, SOCD Chief Tan and CSS Atty. Tabigne.

The event concluded with closing messages from the three resource persons and enjoin the public in giving truthful information during the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS enumeration period.
