The Philippine Statistics Authority – Zamboanga Sibugay offered National ID registration services and processed requests for civil registry documents through the One-Stop-Shop Services during the simultaneous nationwide ‘Araw ng Pangulo: Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat’ event. It was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment – Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office (DOLE-ZSFO) on 13 September 2024 held at Provincial Capitol, Ipil Heights, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

To ensure the widespread availability of the National Identification System services, the National ID team set up a registration booth, offering assistance to all attendees in registering for their National ID. Throughout the day, the booth accommodated individuals inquiring about the National ID and its benefits. Queries regarding the delayed delivery of National ID cards were also addressed. In response, the team provided explanations for the potential delays and encouraged the use of National IDs in paper form and digital National IDs while waiting for the physical cards, as these options offer the same functionality and validity.

In addition, PSA-Zamboanga Sibugay also extended technical assistance to clients with regard to civil registry matters such as consultation on the process to correct clerical or typographical errors and other erroneous entries in civil registry documents, and processing requests of civil registry documents such as birth and marriage certificates.

The Araw ng Pangulo event also advocates for a “Whole of Nation” strategy, which emphasizes the convergence of programs and services from the different government entities to effectively address the multifaceted challenges and needs of the workforce, making the audience integral to the initiative.

The PSA’s participation in the event was a testament to the transformative potential of efficient public service and collaborative governance. By empowering citizens with valid identification and enhanced access to services, the government is taking significant steps towards building a more inclusive and progressive society.
