On 27 September 2024, the PSA – Zamboanga Sibugay successfully conducted the “Rehistro Bulilit” campaign at the Payao Municipal Covered Court, Poblacion, Payao, ZSP. This initiative is part of the PSO - Zamboanga Sibugay National ID team’s continuous efforts in ensuring the saturation of unregistered individuals in the province, particularly children aged one (1) to four (4) years old.
The campaign gathered a large number of families from the community, providing them an opportunity to register their young children in a convenient and accessible manner. Moreover, the event provided an opportunity for registered individuals to address their concerns regarding the delays in the delivery of their National ID cards. The team also took the time to explain the reasons behind these delays, assuring them that efforts are underway to expedite the process and encouraged the use of National IDs in paper form and digital National IDs while waiting for the physical cards, as these options offer the same functionality and validity. During that day, the team registered a total of 204 individuals, including those 5 years old and above.
The PSA - Zamboanga Sibugay plans to extend this initiative to other municipalities in the province to ensure that all children of these ages will receive the benefits of being PhilSys-registered. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in future campaigns to secure their children’s identities.
