03 October 2024 – ZAMBOANGA CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office IX (PSA-RSSO IX) spearheaded the opening ceremony of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) with the theme: “Advancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation” at Grand Astoria Hotel, this City. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) IX and BASULTA was the host agency for the opening ceremony of the 35th National Statistics Month.
Attending the opening ceremony of the 35th NSM were the representatives from Local and National Government Units, Academe, Security Sectors and PSA IX employees.
The ceremony started with an opening message from PSA IX Regional Director Mewchun WS. Pamaran followed by a keynote message through a recorded audio-video presentation from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) IX Officer-In-Charge Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero.
The resource persons were Information Technology I Sarah Mae Camenforte and Information Technology I Ana Kriselda Natividad of DICT IX. Ms. Camenforte discussed the facts and key features of the eGovPH app. The eGovPH app also known as the e-Government Philippines, is a mobile application that simplifies transactions between the government and citizens. An app that serves as the single operating system unifying all government services in a single application. This one-stop-shop platform provides convenience to the public and facilitates effective transactions. While Ms. Natividad, shared the viewpoint on Leveraging ICT Industry Development Programs to Digital Transformation.
An open forum follows afterwards, where questions from the attendees where acknowledged and answered by the resource persons. The opening ceremony of the 35th NSM was concluded by the closing message of OIC SOCD Chief Ma. Flerida E. Tan.
