The Provincial Statistical Office of Zamboanga del Norte launched its Random Check and Audit across all Local Civil Registry Offices in the province starting December 17, 2024. The audit teams, led by the PSO's Registration Officers, conducted these activities pursuant to Republic Act 10625, which grants the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General inspection and visitorial powers. These audits are essential to ensure compliance with civil registration laws and maintain the integrity and accuracy of civil registry documents. The activities aim to verify the proper maintenance and safeguarding of civil registry documents, assess adherence to existing laws, policies, and procedures, and identify areas for improvement in LCRO operations.
As the audits formally concluded on January 16, 2024, the initiative has proven to be both insightful and impactful. PSO employees successfully established stronger partnerships with city and municipal-level civil registration stakeholders, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration. This groundwork is especially significant as February marks the celebration of Civil Registration Month, during which further engagements and programs are expected to reinforce the importance of accurate and reliable civil registration systems. Through this registration, ensuring the effective delivery of services to the public.
