The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office IX in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City officially opened the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration Center at Barangay Buenavista last 04 April 2022.

Dr. Mewchun WS. Pamaran, Regional Director of the PSA IX was among those in attendance and in her message, acknowledged the support of the Barangay Council and for the warm welcome given to the PSA. She further advised the residents to take on the opportunity to register at the barangay hall where the PhilSys Registration Center is situated instead of going to the PSA Fixed Registration Center or any Mall-Based Registration Centers downtown. Joining them was Land Bank of the Philippines Department Head for Zamboanga City, Mr. Rodolfo A. Luceñada who also gave a message emphasizing the role of Land Bank as co-locator in the registration center.

To date, PSA RSSO IX continues to further intensify its goal to make PhilSys registration more accessible to the people.
